Switch Network After Login

When switching network after login sending wallet_addEthereumChain and wallet_switchEthereumChain results in:
Failed to switch networks Error: Chain 0x38 is not supported, please add chainConfig for it

For anyone else having this issue:

      const rpc = new RPC(this.walletConnectProvider)
      const address = await rpc.getAccounts()
      const chain = await rpc.getChainId()
      const update: ConnectorUpdate<string | number> = {
        provider: this.walletConnectProvider,

      }

      this.emitUpdate(update)
