WebAssembly Memory Tagging

Hello WebAssembly Committee,

I’m reaching out to ask whether there is current interest in exploring Memory Tagging support within WebAssembly. I’ve developed a working proof‑of‑concept that integrates memory tagging into both LLVM and the WAVM, and the results so far have been promising. If this aligns with any ongoing discussions or future directions for WebAssembly, I’d be happy to share details, contribute design ideas, or collaborate on a more formal proposal.

We do not currently have a memory tagging proposal, but this does sound like interesting research. If you would like, you would be welcome to come to one of the community group meetings and present your work and see if there is community interest in a proposal like this.

Normally I would invite you to make a PR adding an agenda item to an upcoming meeting, but we don't have the meeting docs for 2026 up yet. Instead, you can see the list of upcoming meetings here: https://www.w3.org/groups/cg/webassembly/calendar/. Is there a date that would work well for you?
