How to make my hexpat be automatically suggested/loaded when I open a file format?

Hi, I've been trying to figure out this, checking other files but I can't seem to understand what makes the hexpat be automatically loaded...

Well, I'm not sure what did it, but seems like Program Files and AppData have patterns folders, adding the files to any of the two didn't helped, but I've stuck with AppData in the end, then I've made a magic file, compiled it, and it seems to have worked... Although, it can't find my custom patterns unless I add the AppData patterns folder to the list of additional folders or it wouldn't even show up on the list of patterns... Where should I really add the files by default then?

Patterns can be auto loaded using two facilities, either using a MIME type and magic files (the way you did it) or using #pragma magic letting you just match a specific sequence of bytes at a given offset.

In order for ImHex to find the files now, they need to be in one of the search paths. You can find which ones exactly through the table on the About page. Patterns go into the patterns folder. By default, ImHex will search in folders directly next to the executable and on non-portable versions it also searches in a user-specific folder. That's the one in %localappdata% on Windows. The ones you can add through the settings will also be searched just like that if you add them.
If you maybe download the portable version? Otherwise localappdata should be added by default
