[Bug] Not showing converted float value in Data Processor

this is a case of using a bad name for the variable type. It uses the name float as a short name for floating point number, not to specify that the variable is a c/c++ float type aka single precision which is 4 bytes in size. The internal representation for floating point numbers uses the double precision type aka double in c/c++ and is8 bytes in size. Using 8 bytes does produce the desired value.

Note that the node marked in read shows the error that causes the value to not be displayed. In this case it says that the value is empty or not the right size. The message can probably be improved by saying that 4 bytes were selected but 8 were needed thus making it clear how to correct the error.

Thanks for you answer, that worked! Means it was my mistake!
Could you please advice how I can convert (by use of these nodes) a 4 bytes to float32 value, or this feature is not implemented yet?

Can you also pls advice, if its possible to create custom nodes, which aren't just build from existing ones, but are created on rewritten code/script basis? if yes, where to find responsible file for those nodes?

The data processor cannot use single precision floating point numbers in its current state. You can create a float constant convert it to a buffer and displaying it shows it is 8 bytes in size.
The data processor is based on one of the hew node editors that have been written for ImGui. The one used in ImHex is called imnodes and you can find its source code in the lib/third-party/imgui/imnodes folder. I don't know to what extent if any the files have been modified but it should be easy to check.

thaqt's probably because you are not using the recursive option for submodule initialization. to get all submodules fully loaded you need to issue the command

git submodule update --init --recursive

at your git console.
