Would anyone like to add to or change any items on the agenda?
OK, let’s get started with the WordPress Community news.
WordPress Community
🌿 ··· WordPress Sustainability Team ···
WordPress Sustainability Team
The official WordPress Sustainability team has seen daylight during the WCEU Athens Contributor Day on the 8th of June 2023.
The main objective of the team is to embed sustainable practices into the WordPress community and its processes. We focus on ensuring longevity; socially, economically, and environmentally.
Please, check also the #sustainability Slack channel.

>_ ··· WP-CLI 2.8.1 ···
WP-CLI v2.8.1 Release Notes
A new release of WP-CLI is available as of today: WP-CLI v2.8.1. For this release, we had 3 contributors collaborate to get 7 pull requests merged.
This is a hotfix release to fix 2 critical bugs with release v2.8.0.
🗓️ ··· Hosting Contributor Day Recap ···
We want to thank all 15 contributors that were on the WordCamp Europe 2023 Contributor Day at the Hosting Table, and also the Documentation Team we share room with.
There were three working groups: Documentation, Tests and MariaDB.
Documentation: Needs some review (there are some Issues and PRs to check and approve).
Tests: There were 2 new hosts added and some ideas to improve the software and the UI for the Host Results list.
MariaDB: Some work, led by @andrew Hutchings, became a new version of the MariaDB Health Checks plugin.
🗓️ ··· Upcoming Hosting Contributor Day ···
Heads up, some events are coming down the pipeline along with some Contributor Days to participate in:
Is anyone going to a WordCamp and wants to lead a Hosting Table?
Great, so just a look at our projects.
Hosting Team Projects
📕 ··· Advanced Administration Handbook ···
Currently, everything pending to do is in the Issues part. A lot of “documentation + enhancement” tickets, and also some “documentation + good first issue” for Contributor Day.
☁️ ··· Host Test Runners ···
The idea behind the distributed hosting tests is to run WordPress' automated test suite across a variety of hosting environments, to help verify that changes on WordPress don't unintentionally affect hosts, and to help hosts be aware of how changes on WordPress or their environments affect how WordPress runs on their services.
If your host isn't included, don't worry, you can still help! You can just follow the instructions on the website to add your host to the database. It's quick and easy, and you'll be helping other WordPress users find the best hosts for their sites. However, if your host has not received reports in the last 25 revisions, we encourage you to check back with them.
NOTE: This last link, maybe we can adapt it and include it into our test Handbook page.
Open Floor
Ok, if nothing else, let’s move on to 🤖 Open Floor. Folks are welcome to bring any topic up for discussion at this time.
