The Real Purpose of the Comments on the Main Page?

I see no evidence that the "DEI" comment on the main page is not a tactic to draw web attention to this software. A software repository main page doesn't seem to be the right place for discussion of concerns about DEI. When we read something on the internet, we sometimes cannot be sure what the true motives are.
