What improvements does XLibre bring over Xorg?

Other than no DEI, I am curious to know what sort exact improvements does x11Libre bring over x11? Would x11libre be on par with wayland by any chance such as lower latency and better animations than x11?

I'm also curious. I know they're working on removing technical debt, which is great, and will make the XServer far more maintainable, and I would assume remove a ton of bloat, but I'm curious if any new features or enhancements are down the line.

As long as the changes have not messed with abi's they use i would think it could be a drop in replacement.

Do I have to manually uninstall xorg and use x11libre or how would this work to get xfce to use x11libre?

Until there is a meta/virtual for these things, I think you do have to manually uninstall xserver-xorg before installing Xlibre.

I believe there is effort being considered to allow xorg and Xlibre to coexist, allowing you to select between them by some means. (eselect on gentoo)

I have hardware from very old systems to server motherboards with NUMA topology.

I have GPU most modern vendors and also outdated and archaic vendors like S3 Graphics, I have already been supporting xf86 drivers for old GPUs.

Tbh I want to see if author ignores issues/prs or addresses merges them then we will see if this fork is a to good fork
