Reality server "softblocked" in China every so often - drops connections

When I play games on my VPN, sometimes I just completely disconnect from the Internet. I use my VPN because it also happens when I play games without it, and more frequently. It seems when I have a long connection to another player (it's a p2p game) it just drops it every so often without using a VPN.

I don't know if it's the same issue using the VPN (it just drops long connections to the VPN) or if it's a different mechanism and my VPN IP gets flagged after I use it for a while (related to it using UDP traffic?)
