Modify Background color

We want to apply a corporate color-based theme to our intranet site, and we have this webpart on that page. Can the color of the background in the webpart be changed to match the new color theme?

It should be noted that while a theme is applied to the site (presently), the color of the background does match, but if an image is placed as the background of the section the webpart is in, the Results Display background becomes a blue color (at least for us). Can that be set to transparent? If we have enabled the "Hide results on load (without query)" option, can the words "no results to display" be hidden?
