Re-downloading and renaming files that already exist in the download directory #52

When I attempt to retry a download from scratch to get any of the files that the previous download misses, many files that are already downloaded are skipped as intended:
"Skip (File Exists & Complete): '773776379949887488.mp4' is already on disk with the correct size."
but for many it downloads them again, renaming them with "_1" at the end with the message:
"Filename collision: Saving as '778480892745097217_1.jpeg' "
I assume this is an error, because I don't know why it skips some and redownloads others; it heavily slows down the download and clogs up the download location with duplicate files. Is this intentional, and if so, is there a way to avoid this from happening?

Edit: I believe it's because of the downloader being unable to verify the file size before downloading, so it downloads a duplicate because it's unable to check the file size against what's already downloaded "could not verify size of existing file '666473008956715008.jpeg': 500 Server Error: Internal Server Error for url: https://example.jpg. Proceeding with download."
I imagine this is something on coomer's end that makes the program unable to verify the file properly, but it would be nice if there was a way to prevent downloading any files with the same names.
