I’m on Bazzite, not SteamOS, I know they’re different but ultimately very similar. It WAS NOT working back in game mode, even when I added terminal as a Steam game and tried to run Zaparoo core back in game mode.
But suddenly yesterday I was having some issues in desktop mode, manually uninstalled the service, desktop, and all that, reinstalled it, played some game, then went back to game mode and it was somehow now working for me.
Don’t know what did it specifically but I’m grateful it’s working at all, hopefully as SteamOS and Bazzite are developed this means it will one day be made to work in Game Mode natively

Needs to be tested. I just did a lot of work on steam recently and tried to add support for that

it still needs some work, it's quite complicated tracking what games steam opened and i'm trying to keep it conservative so we don't accidentally close the wrong thing. if you can, it'd be a big help if you could note down what games are not working with it specifically
