When using Home Assistant or HEMS (Zendure app) with SmartMode = 1, the standby power usage is extremely high (about 25 watts extra). This only happens when the battery is idle and socLimit = 0

Could you please fix this in HEMS (Zendure app) and Home Assistant? Multiple users have submitted support tickets and are discussing it on Tweakers. One user even received two smart sockets as compensation.

Is this actually fixable in the software if compensation is already being given to users?

SmartMode only prevents flash writes; it doesn’t change the normal power behavior of the system.
Regarding the high standby consumption you mentioned, could you describe it in more detail?
For example:
• measured power draw (and how it was measured)
• device model and firmware/app version
• when exactly it happens (battery idle + socLimit = 0, grid connected or not, etc.)
• whether it persists after reboot
• any logs or screenshots

With more specific data we can better understand what’s happening.

There isnt more to say about this issue. When the software is using Smartmode=1 the inverter will stay in idle when de soclimit = 0. You can only see this with an external source to measure the powerflow (smartsocket or kwh mid meter).

In my own software i solved the problem for my users to set Smartmode to 0 when the inverter is idle.

Dont you have an inverter to test this yourself so it can be fixed?

I have this issue here also. I reported serval times to Zendure. After investigation they told me that the problem was Homeassistant. With soms curl commando's the problem can be fixed. I received some (2) energy sockets for the trouble. The 25W power consumpion was measured by an Homewizard kWh MID meter. I think the solution must come from Zendure.

Same issue here, only my standby usage is higher, about 47W which is quite substantial. What is happening with this power, is it being dissipated as heat (I assume this is the case)?

Curious @dav1dBoy if your team has found an explanation for this and if this can be fixed
