Automatically scanning/adding /data/videos/channels

Currently rebuilding a channel manually, it would be much better if there was an option to scan those folders & auto populate them

Opened an issue for this #693.
It should be possible to do this, I believe most everything for videos and live streams is in the info.json file or can be inferred by looking at file names.
I also recommend taking database backups/snapshots so you can restore if something goes wrong.

Where can I create snapshots? I was looking in settings & couldn't find it. Thanks for the project

There is no way to do that in Ganymede, you need to handle that outside of the application with a third-party tool or SQL dumps.
