[Discussion] Do you guys have any opinion on how tracing should be handled in A2A?

Hi, im looking to add A2A support in OpenInference and was hoping to get your opinion on how:

1. Generally how tracing should be handled?
2. Should OpenTelemetry support be built into this python SDK?
3. Reguardless what methods or functions would make for a good place to add tracing?

OTel is already integrated into the SDK. telemetry.py

Hi @CakeCrusher! I'm a little late responding in this thread, but we've been down a similar question in our project. We tried out OpenInference but in the end we decided it would be better to implement the GenAI OTEL standard that's in development. You can see the docs of our tracing design here https://mozilla-ai.github.io/any-agent/tracing/ and you can check out our implementation of the OTEL GenAI tracing too, hopefully that's helpful!
