Communication error 8 - MITM and developer

Hello,

I am testing out the MITM and developer mode options to try and get apps like fermata running using a newer phone that normally can't do that. I am able to see and use these apps when connecting my phone headunit reloaded and they only appear in the launcher when connected to that. I thought maybe this might create the same result. I followed an issue here from around march/April where someone said they were able to get fermata running and I set it all up then got the security certs you mentioned were necessary

The error I'm receiving is communication error 8. "Your car's software did not pass android auto security checks. Make sure the car's date and time is set correctly and that google play services has been updated"

Is this an issue with the certs? Or is this something related to caching or saved data thay I can solve?
