Question regarding the synching outcome between old offline pc with older bookmarks version, and a daily used PC.

I found out a folder of bookmarks was missing (Let's say I deleted in accidently, though I'm not sure).
Checked in an old offline PC, and the bookmarks folder exists on it.
I opened all the bookmarks in new tabs -> used OneTab to make a list of all of them -> opened the list in the new PC, and saved them in a new bookmark folder with the same name as before.

• My question is, what would have happened, had I connected the old PC to the web?
• Does the sync process would have eliminated the folder I was looking for from the old PC?
• Is there a way to restore folders of bookmarks, from older save versions, such the one on the old offline PC, to the daily used new PC - while keeping their date of creation data, so they'll show in the BSP2 search, in chronologically order as before?

Hello, I am not an expert on bookmark synchronization, so I cannot really speak on that ... I would advise that you check on the web what happened to others in similar situation, reconnecting an older PC with synchronized bookmarks / accounts.

On your second question, I believe that if you do a backup (Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks->Import - Export), they do keep their timestamps. At least, I could check that the timestamps still exist in the .json file generated by the Backup operation.

Now the question is what would happen when restoring the old version, on the bookmarks and folders created after the restore ? (reverse question from yours above).
I believe that they are kept. You could even arrive to some duplicates in case the bookmark ids have changed for any reason.

However, this would merit a test. And at any rate, a backup on the current side to make sure that you can recover in case things go wrong.
One very simple way to do a backup by the way is to copy the entire Firefox profile folder to another place. And then, the restore would be to remove/rename the folder to erase, and to re-instate the initial copied folder in its original place.
