Feature: Add notification support for new messages. #8

Currently, we don't alert the user when they receive new messages or if channels have new messages
Describe the feature you are requesting, as well as the possible use case(s) for it.
A simple notification when they receive new messages could be something as simple as the total number if unread messages.
Indicate the importance of this feature to you.
