Permission to Self-Assign Issues?

Hi @accius

I had a small question regarding repository permissions. Would it be possible to grant me the right to assign issues to myself?

My thinking is that this could help improve transparency around who is currently working on what. If issues remain unassigned, it can sometimes be unclear whether someone has already started working on them. Being able to self-assign might make coordination easier, especially if multiple contributors are involved.

If there’s a preferred workflow you’d rather follow, I’m happy to adapt, just thought I’d ask.
