Issue with Downloaded Video Resolution

I am experiencing an issue with the extension where some videos downloaded are not in the designated resolution. For instance, when downloading a video in 1080p, the resulting file appears to be in 240p.

Based on my understanding, the problem might stem from the extension not recognizing audio components, leading it to select the lowest video resolution that includes audio. However, I am not a coder, so this is just a guess.

I hope this issue can be addressed in the next update to improve the extension's functionality. Thank you for looking into this matter.

Your issue sounds identical to this #1595
Basically the extension is improperly detecting the video and audio streams. It might even be the same site or perhaps another site.

You've censored the URLs in your Hit Details images. If you want somebody to actually try to investigate your issue, you need to post enough information so that somebody else can try to do the same download you're trying to do. We need the original URL of the web page on which the video in question resides. If it is a site that requires a login, then you must post Hit Details like you have, but DO NOT censor the URLs. Also, if you're going to post Hit Details, do so as a TEXT cut & paste, NOT as an image.

Posting here is supposed to be the way to contact the developer. Singular. There is only one. But like Matt said, it's been months since we've seen any activity from him in this forum. Supposedly, there's a new release in the works. I have yet to see it. @jcfrog posted an enigmatic comment to that effect a few days ago.

I’m hesitant to provide the link as I’m trying to protect my privacy since I’m just a student from this institution. Additionally, I’ve been downloading the videos for personal use due to frequent Wi-Fi issues, which makes having them offline more practical for me. Even if I provide the link, it wouldn’t be of much use since access requires a login. In the photo, you can see the original site where the institution sources the video—hosted on Cloudflare Stream.

Do I really need to provide the link? Please let me know if the link would still be useful despite the access restrictions.

Since you are talking about a site where a login is required, no, posting the original URL would be of no use. However, there are times when, despite the requirement of a login, the Hit Details permit an outsider to access the video anyway without logging in. I don't understand how that works but it does work. Sometimes. I don't want to oversell it. It does sometimes work. But in order for me or anybody else to test it out, we need the Hit Details posted here as text, not as an image. And the URLs must NOT be censored. I can't access a URL for which bits are missing. I need the full URL or it's useless. Knowing that the content is hosted on Cloudflare does not provide any help. Cloudflare is one of the big cloud hosting services. Many web sites host their content on Cloudflare. That's of no help in diagnosing anything. The easiest thing would be to get into the original web page. But that is not possible here. The next best alternative to that is to post (as text) the Hit Details with the full, uncensored URLs. Is there anything that could invade your privacy if anybody could see the educational institution you are attending? Surely there are many of your fellow students also attending that school. Your personal privacy is unlikely to be compromised.

@NeedSupportOnTheIssue , I want you to copy the main cloudflare url seen in the details and paste in a text editor.
Look at the link where it should have .mpd and replace with m3u8. Copy and paste this into a new tab page.
Does the extension detect something as hls ? If it does try a download and see if it's high quality. You might have to rename file
if it gives a generic name.
