You might want to be participating in #1074.

Despite that, I note that the URL you posted is for an item with age-restricted content. It is well-known that VDH has problems with such content. There are several discussions of this in this forum. You could try searching for them.

I took your advice and did a search and you're right that content you have to log-in to see - age-restricted, special channels or whatever, seem invisible to VDH. It's apparently widely-reported and goes back a-ways. I didn't search for that originally because it never occurred to me that logging in was an issue, since I'm always logged in on YouTube because I'm a Premium member, so to me there was nothing "special" about this video.

I saw no sign that there's a solution or workaround to this. How do we find out if the developers are aware of it and if we can expect a fix one of these days?

First a new version should be deployed soon, it has been submitted to Mozilla but sill not validated, we don't know why, we are waiting too. It should fix some issues.
Second VDH team is working hard on a new strategy for Youtube, it takes time but this year should bring good surprises.

It should download the video in the language you choose for watching it.

The original post above quotes a YouTube video that is apparently age-restricted. The new VDH 9.1.2.0 still does not recognize this video.

In discussion #1507 there are a couple of examples of videos that offer audio tracks in multiple languages. In both those cases, I set the language to English via the gear icon within the YouTube player on the web page, then downloaded it with VDH. Then I reloaded the page, reset the language to French, & downloaded the video again. I got 4 videos, all of which had German language audio tracks. No, @jcfrog Jérôme, the problem of multiple language tracks is NOT fixed.

My tests above were all done with the new VDH 9.1.2.0. To be more thorough, I did the tests using Windows 11 Pro 64-bit version 24H2 build 26100.2894, Firefox 134.0.1 64-bit, licensed VDH 9.1.2.0, CoApp 2.0.20.
