Hello, I always could seen videos on Youtube without register to Youtube. I have installed now the Video DownloadHelper and have to register here (GitHub) to get a free License for a single private user. After that, i can not view any stream without login to Youtube.

Is this behavior a consequence of the installation of Video Downloadhelper?

I do not work for VDH. (@jcfrog Jérôme does.) I'm just another user.

I'm confused, too. As far as I know, it is not necessary to log onto YouTube in order to view & play any content there. It is also not necessary to log onto YouTube in order to use VDH to download anything from there. I hardly ever log onto YouTube & VDH works just fine for me. Always has.

Now, there is a problem with some content on YouTube that does require a logon. YouTube identifies some content as being age-restricted. Such content requires a logon before YouTube will let you access it. Unfortunately, VDH does not work on such content. This is an issue that was first reported at least a couple of years ago. I don't believe there's been any movement on fixing it.

Then there's the issue of content you rent or buy on YouTube. That content also requires a login & VDH won't download it, either.

If your content is protected by DRM, VDH will not download that either. That's true on YouTube & on every other site on the web.

For content that VDH fails to download, you may need to resort to recording the content with a screen recorder. Do web searches to find such software.

When it comes to GitHub, you have to register here in order to post here. That's a requirement of GitHub, not VDH. That sort of thing is typical of pretty much every user community forum on the web, not just GitHub.

Registering for GitHub & getting a VDH license are totally unrelated activities. When you register for GitHub, that allows you to post here. That costs nothing. A VDH license, on the other hand, does cost something. As Jérôme already pointed out, there is no such thing as a free VDH license for a single private user. There are other products out there that allow home users to use the software for free but commercial organizations must buy a license. VDH is not such a product. If you want a license, you have to buy it, regardless of whether you are a private home user or a corporation.

At the top of every page of this forum, there is a link to the Wiki. The Wiki is more or less the user manual for VDH. On the Wiki page, there is a panel on the right side that acts as a Table of Contents. It's a collection of links for you to click. Each link takes you to a discussion of a particular topic. You would do well to get familiar with the Wiki. Get in the habit of referring to the Wiki before you post here.

The Table of Contents in the Wiki is abbreviated. You'll see a link that reads Show x more pages... You want to click that. That will give you several more entries in the Table of Contents. You want to click the one that says Where can I find my versions? That will answer your question about what you should paste in the section for Addon & CoApp version and details in your problem description. Above & to the right of your original post here you can see 3 dots. Click that. That will drop down a menu. Click the entry for Edit, then paste your version information into your post. Then save your edited post.

Once you have gotten all these thoughts clear in your mind, do please explain your problem again. I find what you have posted to be a random collection of ideas you do not seem to understand. A clear problem description would go a long way toward you getting the help you need.

Thank You all for Your help and comments. Unfortunately I can not find the page where I had found the mentioned User-Licenses any more. And the behavior of YouTube ro require a Login (on one and the same Stream-URL) seems happened randomly. In any case strange.

Too bad this problem occurs inconsistently. Be vigilant & next time it happens, pay attention to the URL & post that. Also, post your version information, as I described above. That is important.
