Does not detect YouTube clips

When playing YouTube clips, they are not detected by VDH. It works on normal YouTube videos, but on clips it shows:

No media to process in the current tab

Click play on video to help detect files…

I tried on version 9.3.5.4 (stable), target google, locale en-GB. and Version 9.5.0.0 (beta), target mozilla, locale en-US.

Look at discussion #2054 which I just posted a few minutes ago. Seems to be working fine for me. I'm running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit version 24H2 build 26100.3915, Firefox 138.0.1 64-bit, licensed VDH 9.5.0.0 beta, CoApp 2.0.20.

Your information includes target google. That's Chrome. VDH for Chrome has never been able to work on YouTube. That's a restriction imposed by Google, the parent of both the Chrome browser & the YouTube web site. But you say you are also running Firefox, so I'll assume you're talking about that.

What do you mean by "clips?" Let's have some URLs.

That's a full video you're talking about in the discussion, not a clip. Here are the two clips I'm trying to download:

Yes, you're right, I'm using Microsoft Edge, and when I click Download within the extensions menu for a YouTube video, it shows the error message about the Chrome extension being unable to download YouTube videos. On Waterfox, it works.

Sounds like you have the chrome extension in Edge which is the wrong extension, the chrome version doesn't permit youtube downloading. Use the Edge version from the microsoft page.

Edge gives you an error that it can't download from YouTube? That doesn't sound right. Did you download VDH for Edge from the Microsoft store? That's where it's supposed to be. It is my understanding that VDH for Chrome will install in Edge. But that's not what you want. I'd say you need to get VDH from the right source.

I can't get VDH for Firefox to recognize anything to download from your "clips" either. Better minds than mine will have to step in here.

Oh, I didn't realise there was an Edge specific version of VDH. I had installed it from the Chrome web store. I uninstalled that, and installed the edge specific version, which does download YouTube videos no problem. Anyway, my original issue remains unaddressed.

It must be new these clips, there's no solution at the moment. The clips are short enough to record though.
