Your question
My system is LMDE 6 (Debian "Bookworm" under the hood). First I installed the extensions in Firefox (saw its ad on the addons website and decided to give a try... then of course installed the extensions on Google Chrome and MS Edge as well... no problems with the extensions at all actually), then found out I needed to have the companion app installed as well, so I downloaded the 64-bit deb file and installed it as usually I do (e.g. Chrome and Edge are installed the same way and they operate flawlessly). Unfortunately that installation (though it went successfully) did not change anything... The extensions still were requiring the companion app... I decided to try the installation using the first method mentioned in the instructions...
curl -sSLf https://github.com/aclap-dev/vdhcoapp/releases/latest/download/install.sh | bash
copied, pasted, entered... all installed working perfectly (version 2.0.19), the extensions in all the browsers detected the companion app. and all worked without any issues.
After a couple of weeks, I felt I don't need that functions anymore and decided to remove the extensions and the companion app in accordance with the instructions... All removed without any issues during the "uninstallation process", but after all when I try to update my system, I get a notification:
"net.downloadhelper.coapp:i386 needs to be re-installed..."... "the archive for it could not be found..."
The system is unable to update, impossible to install new apps neither deb nor "sudo apt install ANYAPP"... All the operations do require the installation of that ......coapp:i386 (even for its or another package's removal)... How to solve this puzzle?
Addon & CoApp version and details
coapp version 2.0.19
