Today 18-06-2025 VHD suddenly stoppped working 11:00am displays the red logo and gives the go forth and multiply.

Edit: After a 30 minute rest it started working again today on the same link that was broken and not working what is happening today.

Updated with a half hour later. It is very odd behaviour from the app on YouTube links today. I bet nodody had this before it is so odd behaviour it needs fixing in a Beta or Stable either way this long wait before the next works behaviour.

I was so stressed because it took a long wait time to get the next track for chart radio where you have to redownload the playlist weekly and delete the tracks weekly after you finished as well to support the artists.

The error doesn't mean anything, if it's failing somewhere then you need to supply a link. Just saying "it stopped working" is not
productive and won't solve the issue on this forum.

mattmjs and jpfrog I have now found out the true reason for videos being detected but sometimes not downloading.

They have changed everything. VP9 and Opus is now king and VDH doesn't support certain halfs of the dash codes for them it is on life support from legeacy dash formats for what it can grab from June 2025.

I think I ended up being more helpful by providing this github link with all the up to date detection codes for dash halfs in it rather than links to music as the surviving on legacy formats since June thing is the real issue within VDH and this will solve our own issue.

Posting links to music will only make more issues as artists will pull things down and that isn't good for their own music charts when it comes to topping them removing them from services to piracy.

I am responsible I get the tracks for my show then delete them straight away and get them another week that means the artist gets paid on a weekly basis a full tracks stream worth a salery just by me doing a radio show so it supports them what I do but posting links so people can't be as responsible as I am I can't do that but I do know the issue is detection based now due to being pre June 2025 old legacy dash formats detected in VDH at the moment and people will straight up download and not delete the tracks in the links it's about me wanting to support artists but also making a show at the end of the day.

If it is a track like an R Smelly, P Smiddie or a Gary Gritter or even a track which goes to an estate and not the artist because they passed then I don't mind if somebody straight up grabs the tracks they actually still really like by them dispite who they are in real life and keeps it so they don't make any money off of it whatsoever because they themselves don't deserve to be paid for their lifestyle behavour but for an artist who is really passionate about the art and wants to get paid for it weekly I can't support a link being posted so people can get it in the software and not delete it.

But a link I can and will post would be help for adding the up to date June 2025 codes into VDH Beta which a person down below it also explains the very best format to put in VDH mkv in a full explaination about compression.

I doubt it is codec related, although previously VDH would download webm. But there was a problem in that the audio was aac.
Webm strictly will not accept aac only opus audio, so it was changed to the mkv format. I'd like to see an example where
there is a problem downloading.

If you don't offer an example, don't post issues on the forum and expect them to be resolved.

I have to say your posts ramble on in a rather incoherent way. I don't understand at all what your problem is. You might help your cause if you would learn to put periods at the end of your sentences. Sentences can end at places other than paragraph breaks. Please use standard English punctuation. Look at how I've written this post. I have several paragraphs with multiple sentences in each paragraph. Each sentence ends with a period, & the next sentence begins with a capital letter. You need both: the period & the following capital letter. Learn how to express yourself & then maybe people will understand you.

There have been issues with YouTube that both Matt & I have commented on over here: #2190. You might be hitting issues that are discussed in that other discussion. You would do well to read it. You have posted in that discussion but it does not seem to me that you have actually read any part of that other than your own post. Read the rest of the discussion. I do not generally have problems downloading from YouTube. But I follow the advice we have given over in #2190. It's advice worth following. You should read the whole discussion, not just your own post, & perhaps it will help you be successful with downloading YouTube content.

In light of my own success using VDH to download from YouTube, I would confirm Matt's observation that there is nothing in connection with codecs that is preventing VDH downloads from YouTube. That issue looks to me like a red herring. I think the real issue is that you are trying to download many videos from YouTube. You need to follow what we advise in #2190. Read it to learn how to make VDH work on YouTube.

So they are making you pay either way then pay for a VPN to make VDH work without waiting forever for a link to work again or pay for their premium to get unlimited downloads. lol.

I think another way around it might be to re-make the detections to pickup the real webm editions I've been asking for that for ages now for it's 48000khz audio and now it's revealed in a YouTube video what is the current best compressed audio format that it is WEBM OPUS Audio these days now beating m4a the previous leader so I actaully really want it now after that revelation.

But then if it's doing it on the rest I doubt WEBM will fix the new requests up yours you can't get anymore for half hour issue. I'd find it easier to just record it live rather than wait as 4 minutes is faster than 30.

An update of somewhat waiting a minute before the next track for the chart seems to be working annoying but it's working it's when you overshoot and do it before a minute I recon it's goign to go red and not let me click anymore perminently for the day or for half hour so I'd better not overshoot then. lol

After 25/40 I overshot getting the next track too quick and it stopped. But yeah stop and start works sort of around the issues it is definitely not current VDH.

I wonder if we have a grab from link mode in VDH similar to all the website based YouTube downloaders out there if it will continue to get both normal and music server content even whilst VDH mode is getting nothing.

I know for certain a grab from link mode could get us webm audio for sure but the VDH flash mode is faster at encoding. lol

I see the up yours and the up yours says catch app not found. That really does mean the token ring might not be fully being formed because the codes are not up to date so the catch app is not able to form your handshake.

It means my basic networking in BTEC wins I was 100% correct about what the Exit Code 1 is trying to tell us June 2025 needs to be coded in VDH and all the mp4 and webm dash connected to the same as the June 2025 listings then everything should work fine.

This weeks having a go at downloading using VDH I wasn't having luck at all even clicking randomly only got about 12 in an hour of them randomly working until it works but then I had a power cut and nothing but working tracks thereafter and almost got all 40 tracks for a trip back to the 80s funny day.
