I seem to be having an issue with YouTube videos for, say, the past 2 weeks or so: Even though my region is set to US, and my default language is set to English (US), as well as the original language of the YT videos is English, and, my default language in YouTube is English, yet, on downloading videos using the app, the audio language picked up is non-English! Almost always German (although there were a couple of instances of either Dutch or some other language which I couldn't recognise being auto-picked up).
Can anyone look into this irritating issue & solve it with the right coding? Or, is there a workaround?

OK, so here's the thing: Of the various YT URLs from which I could not download (henceforth abbreviated DL) vids, on rechecking, many of them now allow DL - but not all!

As I said before, a lot of erratic behaviour on part of the app (the latest stable version, on which I tested this; didn't test the beta as was advised to switch back to the stable version).

Before posting this comment/reply, in the preceding 20-30 mins, I did some 'experimenting' just to see what's happening.
Here's a (I'm sure very incomplete & non-exhaustive) list of URLs & the issues I face(d) with them -- some are new (i.e. I haven't tried to DL from them earlier); some are old (i.e. I have tried to DL from them earlier, and they include both the 'previously failed DL' ones & 'previously successful DL' ones; however I do not remember which was which...):

Consistently recognizing but not downloading -- in any video quality/resolution or format:

Hmm...I don't know what to say. As I mentioned, if the 'error' is random, and/or the behaviour is 'erratic' then there may not be any predictable pattern to diagnose anything specific...
But, here's a link for which the app still doesn't detect any video (leave alone giving options to download it) -- this I tried just before replying to you:

Anyway, as I said in my previous comment/response: Dunno if these errors will persist or even occur for anyone else, as this seems less predictable/systematic and more a random thing to my untrained/non-expert mind...

YT changes their streaming protocols very often and we don't always have the same results, complicated

I went to the thread you referred to, and even replied there.
However, on trying this out, I realised something: that many of the URLs were already in the "watch?v=" format (you can see that above as well)! That means that that 'hack' won't work/wasn't going to work this time, at least not for the issues I've been facing...
As I said, quite unexplained, erratic behaviour for the app...

You already have detection on videos in this format, the links have been like that for a long time. I'm talking about the links you
said were not recognized by the app which have live/. Look at those links again, you just need to change the url and it will work.

I replied to the portuguese thread but I am having the language issue as well, it sems to concern especially YT Shorts for me, any video that has recognisable English will be dubbed in German in the downloaded video, even e.g. songs. I am using beta. My system is in English

Yes, it seems to work now, except for the shorts that I downloaded when the dubbing happened. If I delete the old video and re-download, there'll be dubbing. But for previously unwatched shorts there's no dubbing so I think it's now working.
