Hello all , I am not able to download any video from Yout*be , I have a verified licence . I continue to get the message " Sadly we failed at downloading that specific media ' . I have reinstalled the addon and restarted the browser ( firefox ) . Can anybody help ? cheers in advance

I have not had any trouble downloading from YouTube. You might post at least one URL of a YouTube page where there is something you can't download. I could then see how it works for me & we could compare results.

Yes, pasting is what you should do here. You did it right.

I am running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit version 24H2 build 26100.4484, Firefox 140.0.2 64-bit, licensed VDH 9.5.0.2, CoApp 2.0.20.

Here's how things went when I visited your YouTube page:

Notice that I'm doing a Download As, not a simple Download.

These are some file properties from the Windows Properties dialog.

Here it is playing in VLC. You can see the video is fine. You'll have to trust me that the audio was also fine. I didn't sit & watch it. Nothing much to watch but the still image. But it appeared to be all there, right to the end.

I don't know what the deal is with YouTube these days. There seems to be some sort of geographic restriction on some content. I'm in the US so I would assume most content is easily available to me. People in other countries seem to have trouble. But there are people here in the States who are also having trouble. I don't know what's going on. All I can say is it's working for me. Maybe that's a data point of some use to our dev. Like I said, I'm just another user so I don't really know any more about it than you do.

Hey again , sorry for the slow reply , I went away for a couple of days , I did reply but must have forgot to post send .I was able to get it to work for that video when I got home , but then it happens again sometimes. Doubtful. Mine says the same thing. I think that's an indicator to say whether you've installed the CoApp recently. I think this is a flag that switches from true to false on the first execution of VDH after you install a new CoApp. I think. I don't really know. Remember, I don't work for these guys. I don't have access to the code. And even if I did, I doubt I would understand it. But that's my best guess. In any case, like I say, my information says the same thing & pretty much everybody posting their info has the same. So it's a red herring.

Mine stopped working a day or 2 ago also. Can't download anything from YT, but other sites work fine.

As oddly as this problem began, if stopped. I did nothing. I imagine it is some kind of throttling. 2 days later it just started working again

Matt already referred to #2190. He & I both commented in there. Two days seems a bit long for YouTube to have made you go sit in the corner. But I suppose anything is possible with them. If you follow our advice in that other discussion, you should probably be able to succeed with YouTube.
