also stream on the toolbar has two HTTPMedia which downloads an empty file and the one entry: MPD shows 57:05 where the stream was 9hours long and MP4 1080p but that's the one i get the error message on

I decided to run that URL through ffprobe. Something shown as .mpd is typically a DASH master manifest. This is what I got:

I am concerned about the error messages. I think they are telling me that this is protected by DRM & my result, after downloading something that will be of duration 8:34:50 (a bit over 8 & a half hours!), will be scrambled.

I am also not convinced it will be something with a video track & an audio track. VDH has had problems with this sort of content. It has downloaded something that has 2 video tracks. It should download the video track from Stream #0:0, the one with the highest resolution. It should then download the audio track (there is only one) from Stream #0:5. If VDH screws this up, I will try again with ffmpeg myself.

The error messages at the beginning of that ffprobe report look like DRM problems. However, the video tracks all show "Side data" of a type that ffprobe doesn't understand. I am hoping those early error messages are caused by this unknown side data. If that's the case, I expect it's just a minor blip & the download won't be scrambled after all. But I won't know until VDH finishes downloading all 8.5 hours of this thing, whatever it is. At least the download speed is holding at the good speed so I'm hoping this doesn't take too much longer.

OK. The download has completed. The file properties look like this:

I very much don't like the looks of those details. There's video properties but no audio properties. I ran that file through ffprobe & got this:

As I suspected. There's 2 video tracks & no audio track. But the whole question is moot. This is what I saw in VLC when I tried to play it:

Not our lucky day. This is scrambled. It's protected by DRM. I'm not even going to bother downloading this directly with ffmpeg myself. There's no point. The content is encrypted with DRM & the only way to play it is to have the decryption key. I believe I've read somewhere there is a way to generate these decryption keys. The explanation was so complex, & I believe it required rooting a cell phone among several other esoteric maneuvers, that I gave up on trying it myself.

If you want this content, you are never going to successfully download it, not with VDH, not with any other legal software. It is illegal to break DRM protection. There may be paid services that will decrypt this for you. Seems to me I've seen mention of those. Much cheaper to get yourself a screen recorder (I will not endorse one, find one on your own) & just record this item while you play it . . . for EIGHT AND A HALF HOURS. Sad but true. That looks like your only option here.

I want to point out something. This content is apparently on a subscription web site. You posted the VDH Hit Details & it contained enough information for me, not a subscriber, to download this content anyway. Unfortunately, it's protected by DRM. But that's beside the point. This shows that sometimes, a non-subscriber can get subscription-only content. SOMETIMES. This doesn't always work. But it works enough of the time that it's always worth a shot to try it.

Since the content is protected by DRM, I am surprised that the download I did do didn't show the DRM indicator. You can see in my image above showing the download in progress that Firefox has not put up the little icon that means "this is protected by DRM." I guess you get that icon only if the web page has a video player in it. If that had shown up, it would have saved me about an hour. Oh well. Good luck screen recording this. I see from the web page that it's not going to be available past tomorrow. So you better get on the stick if you're going to grab your own recording.

Too bad that it's using DRM, the page should have this icon in Firefox to indicate it's protected media.
