Import/Export settings #2256

I do not work for VDH. I am just another user. Also, please read #2214. Interesting question. I just did an export of my VDH settings using first the legacy interface, then the modern interface. The file created is a json. In the legacy interface, you get a file selection dialog in which you can select the target directory for the json. In the modern interface, you don't get anything. You click the button & you wonder if it worked. In the modern interface, the json is placed in the directory you have already defined as your I would say that you should use the modern interface to export your settings, assuming you're going to import them on another computer using the same release of VDH. And of course you would import them in the modern interface. The modern export seems much more streamlined than the legacy export. But I'm guessing. It would be good to get confirmation from Paul. It seems to me I vaguely recall there was a problem with Import at some point. I don't remember if it was fixed. It was rather a while ago. I'd be curious to hear what your experience is with Import on your second setup. |

Your question
I prefer the new UI, but the legacy seems to have a lot more settings options. Does it matter which conformation I export the settings from as far as importing them is concerned. In other words, will the new UI inherit/accept the settings from the legacy?
Addon & CoApp version and details
