Video DownloadHelper has stopped being able to download YouTube videos.

I first downloaded VDH yesterday. I was able to download some YouTube videos. This morning I was able to download six YouTube videos and then it stopped downloading any videos. It would not download a video that I was able to download yesterday. At this point the VDH icon in the Firefox menu bar shows no color. When I attempt to download a YouTube video I get the error message "Download Failed. Sadly we failed at downloading that specific media."

Even when I go to the page shown on your help page..."How to verify Video DownloadHelper is working

Go to this page. You should see in the Firefox browser toolbar an colored 3-balls icon." ...The 3-ball icon is still not colored.

I have cleared the cache in Firefox and I am still able to download any YouTube videos.

Is there a way I can troubleshoot this problem?

I am running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit version 24H2 build 26100.4652, Firefox 140.0.4 64-bit, licensed VDH 9.5.0.2, CoApp 2.0.20.

Here's what happened to me when I went to the Jocly demo page at YouTube:

As you can see, there's no problem. However, you may be hitting some of the conditions discussed in #2190. Ignore the long, rambling, incoherent posts in there & read the others. Also, we've got some speculation going about cookies from YouTube. See #2244 & #2247. If you could add a data point, that might be helpful. Beware of the Show x previous replies & Show x following replies buttons in GitHub discussions. GitHub likes to hide the most important posts. Don't fall into the trap. Click those buttons. It's doubtful cache has anything to do with any issues. You can always reload a page with Ctrl+F5 & get the equivalent effect of emptying cache. Emptying cache is rarely a solution to anything despite its being something nearly every help desk recommends. I just tell them I did it but I never do. Ctrl+F5 is good enough.
