Download restricted after licensing?

Hello community,
I've detected some behaviour I can't really understand.

After I downloaded a few (I think embedded YT-Vids) videos from a Site, I purchased a videe-downloadhelper license to eliminate the QR-code that covered some content.

After I bought, the product said it is licensed correctly and I could download the videos without the obstructing QR-code-sticker.
But -here comes the strange thing- there is one (only one) video that v-dh claimed to not download "Leider ist es uns nicht gelungen, dieses spezielle Medium herunterzuladen." (sorry for the german fault message). This was minutes after I downloaded without licensing from the same site.

I guess it is not possible to get rid of the QR-code after downloading without license just by reconverting or something, because the QR-code has overwritten the video information and was not put over it as a "removable" layer?

Is there any trick or workaround known?
Do you need any more specific information?
