This is a rather silly problem on YouTube for which a workaround has been found. You can find that workaround here: #2166.

Thank you, GrampaWildWilly! That indeed fixed my problem. I hadn't noticed "live" in the URL, and I'm not sure how it got there, but I'll definitely be on the lookout for it in the future.

Oh. One more thing. It is my understanding that the VDH button for Force Detection is supposed to remove the cookies associated with the page where you do it. I'm not sure that always works. Seems to me I've read posts here from people who tried that & it didn't help them. A more direct approach via a cookie management browser extension seems to be more reliable.

Mysterious. I downloaded it without incident. I wish I knew what I'm doing right that so many other people are doing wrong. I just click the buttons & the thing works for me. I don't have the code. I probably wouldn't understand it even if I did. I don't have any sort of customizations or private tweaks. I just have what everybody else has. This is totally frustrating. I hate not having the answers.

Thanks for your fast response! Guess what, I got it to download by opening a private window in Firefox and then playing it. Not sure how that idea popped into my brain, but I'm glad it did!

Maybe that will be a solution for others having trouble?
