How can I roll the extension (in Edge) back to the previous version? The new version worked on YouTube for exactly one week, then Google changed their validation or something and it quit. Meanwhile, since the update, every other site runs at realtime or slower for the video downloads. At least the old version downloaded from places other than YouTube at the full bandwidth of my ISP connection. As it is now, the extension is useless and worthless. Given I paid for a license for use with Edge, I expect it to work properly.

Sorry, there is no way for the moment to roll back to V9.
V10 is supposed to work much faster, there must be another reason. On which site do you get this slow downloads?

It happens on just about any site, but especially with reddit (redgifs) and ThisVid. Youtube is utterly useless for getting 720p versions. At least the old version worked everywhere but YouTube. At least yt-dlp still works most of the time on YouTube, but is requires cut and paste of the URL, and 2 runs, to identify which formats are available.

The older version would have similar issues. Are you logged in into youtube when you download? Do you see a "hls" word next to the title?

The old version worked much faster on the other sites. As for YouTube, I only log in when I want to leave comments, and immediately log out afterward. Google knows too much about people already. Anything to reduce the information i give them is worth the small inconvenience of lower quality "matching" of videos selected for me.

I reported the several YouTube videos that failed only a week after the update. I went back to yt-dlp after that. I just now chose a couple of random videos to try. There was one that came up FMT in the box. That one worked. The HLS don't. I prefer 720p because I save to a laptop, but even on a desktop with a 1080 monitor, the player and task bar cut the available screen so 720 is optimum. As I said, yt-dlp works well enough on YT. It's the "adult" sites that worked at bandwidth before the update, but now work at video real-time that have ruined the extension for me. I'm getting less than 100kb download speeds where I used to get 700kb to 1.2Mb speeds before the update on the exact same PC. I used to be able to do three or four streams downloading, each at 200kb to 300kb as well. Last night, the final straw before signing up for github to post was two streams downloading at 44kb & 64kb, with nothing else downloading.

Others have complained about the new interface. Personally, I preferred the old one as well. But I can live with it. What I can't deal with is downloads that take longer than the underlying video to transfer.

It's more that the site is throttling download speed, I see on average around 250 kb/s to 280 kb/s. Nothing like @husky14620 is getting.

Correct. That's not specific to V10. Similar throttling happening with previous version.

unfortunately I tend to agree, I can't say I've had a positive experience with the extension since the v10 update... Only good thing I can say about it so far is that the dark theme/color scheme looks better aesthetically...

I've never had so much trouble getting it to detect videos on pages, sometimes even after pressing the force detection button and refreshing the page, still nothing and it seems to be totally random.

This version is the first time I've experienced this issue where it will continue running even after a livestream has ended, endlessly until i manually go and press stop... in which cases usually the file is damaged and i have to repair it with wondershare repairit software...

we've lost the ability to customize our download directory, actually looking more at it now, it looks like we've lost a ton of the settings we had access to customizing in the past..

I've had two lifetime licenses for VDH since 2020, so over 5 years now and I love the extension, its definitely been money well spent, but i wont lie, this latest version and the direction everything seems to be heading is a bit disappointing
