Currently on YouTube there is none video recognized - not at all

Neither using the known YouTube workaround for recognizing different video formats nor simply on a 'usual open YT-video' VDH can detect a video at all - the 'forced recognition' also doesn't work.
This is a completely new problem, because I downloaded a few tutorials during the last days - without any problem

Let me repeat what Matt said. The current beta version of VDH for Firefox is not the latest version. This has historically not been true. It will no doubt be true at some future date. But today, the general availability version of VDH for Firefox, available on the Mozilla add-ons repository, is the latest version. You should upgrade to that. Also, be sure to read #1641 so you don't unnecessarily remove your existing VDH. Refer to #2391 for a nearly identical case to this.

This forum is a joke! Meanwhile there are three users reporting - independently - VDH not working on YT - what are you waiting for? 9.5.0.2 also doesn't recognize a single file on YT!
Amd those users who claim everything to be in order: Why don't you tell us incompetent morons, how you manage to download arbitrary videos from YT? Again:
What OS, which browser do you use? None of you actually is able to convince me, that you at least tried to download one single file from YT during the past 1-2 days. So again: What is the sense of a forum with such users?

This is interesting... I use a way older FF (128.13.0esr) on a Debian 13 ("Trixie" officially, but 'testing', hence part of the next version no. 14, named "Forky"). Of course I also thought on IP-blocking by YT/Google, but... VDH should at least recognize a video in such a case, even though a DL would fail, as Google's servers would refuse to upload data to my IP.
The problem though is, that VDH simply don't recognize any video at all on YT - no matter whether logged in or not.

Asking for OS's and used software though shouldn't be really unusual, since VDH itself (it's developer) needs exactly the same information,... guess why? Failures of any type might depend on different systems, different software including different versions of them.

I only desire a reasonable arguing based on logic... and - as mentioned - with data, so it is always possible to see, whether only parts of systems are affected and which ones.

@Godzilla1965 , I didn't supply some of the information you think is important. I'll explain why.

Using Firefox 142.0 , 9.5.0.2 stable extension, companion app version 2.0.19 on Windows 10.
I'm also using ublock origin to block ads. No youtube premium service.

The extension does all the detecting on youtube, the OS, the browser and companion app do not do the detecting.

There are current issues with age restriction ,private video and member only videos ( no detection on these videos at the moment )
There is currently a detection issue on links that have a different format, see #2166

I told the reason for this question and... this also implies, that I don't need 'deep' details. Windows 10 - FF 142 is enough to tell me, my specs are _ f a r _ away (s.a.).
In regard to age restriction, members only... I was talking about videos, which are part of a playlist, coming from one single producer (a university) and without any restriction (as it simply is a video of many of lectures in this university) one day before the mentioned failure. None of the already downloaded videos is detected meanwhile... so this is not video specific!

I have meanwhile found out, that it indeed was an individual IP-block by YouTube. I have cut my internet connection and after re-establishing the connection I checked my IP to make sure it was different. Then I deleted cookies and cache and... opened any video from YouTube - not logged in, of course. And... voilá - the video was immediately detected by VDH and it was one of those ones, which wasn't detected yesterday using the old IP.
Well... this is interesting, since it is a clear hint, that the download process is detected and identified as download (in opposite to a pure streaming) by YouTube. This makes it possible in the near future, that every single detected download can be used to block the corresponding IP and stop the download. So it still (at least in my eyes) is a problem, that should be observed, because... this will - sooner or later - concern each YouTube download.
I can't help, but I guess, as long as a download makes use of a bandwidth, which is far away from the download rate commonly used for streaming YouTube will most likely find out, that it is 'illegal'. Because of that it might be an idea to find and realize methods, which reduce the download speed to a rate, which makes it not really distinguishable from streaming the content.

This sounds like a have your cake & eat it too suggestion. A lot of the examples being posted here are hours long. I recently saw one fellow user post a link to something on YouTube that had a 12-hour duration. Needless to say I silently moved on to other things when I saw that. I think most users want their YouTube downloads to actually use some significant portion of their allotted bandwidth. I have observed, on very rare occasions, YouTube actually use over 30M/sec download speed. This happens to be only about 50% of my capacity. Much more frequently YouTube downloads at anywhere from 2M/sec to 20M/sec. There doesn't seem to be any pattern. I'm guessing it depends somewhat on the activity globally on YouTube at the moment I happen to be there. My belief is people do not want their YouTube downloads to be throttled back to viewing speeds. I certainly don't.

My suspicion is there is absolutely nothing VDH can do to avoid YouTube's mysterious blocking policy. But I'm just another user. I'm guessing. Perhaps @paulrouget Paul, who is the developer, might have some thoughts on the subject.

As for what you did to make that video downloadable again, I believe the significant step was deleting cookies. Deleting cache is, I believe, completely unnecessary. You can always reload a page with Ctrl+F5 & that is equivalent to clearing cache. But deleting cookies is probably a useful step. There is a growing body of evidence here that if you delete your cookies that mention YouTube, you can lift your IP block. Performing such an activity requires a Firefox add-on. This is because Firefox itself, when you delete cookies, also deletes associated cache entries. That is a potentially time-consuming operation & probably pointless. Like I already said, you can get the effect of clearing cache with a simple Ctrl+F5.
