Anonymization of artifacts

How can we support researchers struggling to publish (often qualitative) data due to potential privacy violations?

• Which degree of anonymity is required, especially for demographic data (K-anonymity and Differential privacy, etc.)?
• How to handle interview transcripts or open-ended survey questions?

I see it always as a two stage thing:

1. Ideally publish all transcripts or other qualitative data after anonymisation together with all notes, codes and coding guidelines.
2. If that is not possible, publish at least the code structure and coding guidelines.
