Integrate RMP (Step 1)

Understand the codebase and figure out how to manage API Calls for RMP and pulling data from the CSV for classes. Design a workaround that ensures utdGrades stays relatively fast.

Aim to finish by 2/21/2025, the faster we get the backend architecture figured out, the faster we can implement and be ready for Fall Enrollment.

Heres the info we want from RMP:

• Professor ratings
• Class ratings
• Most interacted with comments

@axdyv @FarhanJamil0001 RMP does not provide API so we need to scrape the RMP website. I think we should just scrape the professor and class ratings from RMP first for simplicity and then comments later.

Interesting, yeah that seems to be the case. I think the ideal solution will look like the following:
For every professor we have data for - we try to find their general information on RMP
For each section a professor teaches - we try to find their ratings/comments
This scraping process should be as automated as possible and handle null and empty values.

On the grade view - it would be nice to make the professor name clickable and it opens their RMP page

Here are something cool i saw, we can test their solution and if its good then we can try to build around it or we can start from scratch.

so I have been using the source you provide but i have to work around a bit since it only works on the "old" RMP web (i think so). right now, i have been able to extract the prof information (name, rate_my_prof_id, and overall_rating). this csv file can make the prof's name on UTD, when clicked, will open the RMP page for that prof.

For the comments/ratings for each session, it will need to use another csv file so I will comeback to it when I finish the above task.
