From Doug Lapp: "It would be nice to get rid of the use of imperial units altogether as new editions develop. My students complain about their use and I agree. The world does not use these units and the 1999 Mars Orbiter incident suggests we should try to rid ourselves as well. Since most Calculus students are majoring in the sciences, I think this should be considered."
