No output when running vim-hackernews

I am trying to get vim-hackernews to work and am getting no output

I can run the vader tests but I get no output which I assume means that the tests were successful?

I can run :HackerNews which outputs nothing have tried :HackerNews ask and some other variations get the same results. I have also tried various vim window sizes none of which have fixed the issue.

What debug steps should I take?

HackerNews titles are able to load but when i go to any story, i cant see any comments, only title and it's url in markdown format.
