Can't get wildcards to translate

I've created a hair.txt file in the wildcards directory with single lines of hairstyles. I put the embed of "hair"surrounded by double underscores but the output doesn't substitute values for the wildcard embed -- just lists underscore underscore hair underscore underscore like I typed it in. I've been able to edit the file in the wildcards manager so I know it's seen but never a substitution. Could this be due to Combinatorial being checked? Could it be that I have two separate Wildcard Manager tabs? I got them both from the single installation and they both say the same thing.

This is no longer a issue for me. I reinstalled dynamic prompts, and it resulted in the only one wildcards tab being installed. After that the wildcard translation took place..
