Multiple Issues with the Preview Window #1265

@maykura

Description

@maykura

All issues described here are related to the separate preview window, and not the one shown inside the Fluent search window.

  • When losing focus, the preview windows remains open, even when Keep open is set to off (shown below)
  • The size and position of the preview window is not saved after the preview windows is closed and reopened, even when Open at center is set to off (shown below)
  • When the preview window is opened within Windows explorer, pressing the hotkey again does not close the preview window

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Use the settings shown here (mostly default):
Image
  1. Select a search result in Fluent Search
  2. Press the shortcut key defined in Show preview window hotkey (default is Shift+Enter) to open the preview window
  3. When losing focus, the preview windows remains open, even when Keep open is set to off (shown above)
  4. While the preview window is open, make some adjustment to the position and size of the preview window
  5. Close the preview window
  6. Open the preview window again by pressing the same hotkey in step 3
  7. Preview window reopens at the default size and position

Additionally:

  1. Use the same settings above
  2. Select a file in windows explorer
  3. Press the space key as described in the Preview on file manager setting to open the preview window
  4. Press space key again
  5. Nothing happens. The preview windows stays open
  6. Same issues as steps 4-8 in the first part

Expected behavior

  • Unless Keep open is enabled, the preview window should close when losing focus (this used to work in a previous version)
  • Adjustment to the size and position of the preview window should persist after reopening.
    (I am not 100% sure if this is a bug, but I vaguely remember this to be the behavior some versions ago)
  • While the preview windows is open, pressing the hotkey again should close it
    This is currently working if the preview window is opened from Fluent Search, but not working if opened from Windows files explorer.

Desktop:

  • Window 11 24H2
  • Fluent Search Version: 1.1.1.5
  • Installation source: Portable
