This is the first release of AdminNeo and EditorNeo as standalone products. It mainly brings the brand new responsive theme with dark mode support and color variants, easy to use configuration, several UX improvements and reviewed plugins and customizations. Please consult the Upgrade guide to upgrade your AdminNeo installation.

I could be done, but I'm not sure if I want it. There can be a performance problem with dynamically created content if it will be not cached. And to cache all combinations of AdminNeo and plugins will be quite great amount of files. I will think about it.

Right now, you can use direct links to automate the process. For example:

@peterpp - thanks for your thoughts on this. I think the main issue for me is keeping track of whether any plugins have been updated with a new release. I wonder if perhaps the simplest solution would be a download checkbox option (include all plugins) that results in a download of a zip file with all plugins included along with the .php file.

@adrianbj Yes, updating plugins together with the new release is a real issue and the source of confusion for many people. Including all plugins is a good idea, so it is done.

Are there any plans to migrate the old CSS files to v5.0.0?
My favorite stylesheet is nicu, but that no longer works with the new version.

@EusebiuOprinoiu - the new version is so much more usable with its scrollable components and in my opinion looks so much nicer than any of the old Adminer themes. Have you given the new one a good chance to get yourself used to it?

Yes. I tried it, but I don't really like the color palettes.
I'm also not a big fan of the icons. They make everything look so busy.
On the plus side, I see the new default theme uses CSS variables, so as a last resort, I could try making my own theme. (but this is something I would prefer to avoid)

Edit: And I agree. With the exception of nicu, all other themes from v4 are pretty bad.

No need to make a theme - it is really easy to modify the colors with those CSS vars in a custom css file. And honestly, it's pretty easy to hide the icons as well via fieldset and .fieldset-icon.

Personally I hide a few things to suit my needs/preferences:

No, I'm sorry. I consider all old designs problematic in multiple ways. AdminNeo is prepared for more system themes and I have an idea for another one, but it is not a priority right now.

If we are talking just about colors and icons, it shouldn't be a big deal. You can create a custom adminneo-light.css file like this:

I have already made some changes using a custom CSS file, and I'm very pleased with the result.
The new theme is superior in every way when compared to the old one, and the CSS variables make customizing it a nice experience.

Hey @peterpp - just wondering if you have plans to create a page on adminneo.org that is similar to https://www.adminer.org/en/extension/#api, listing all the methods that can be overwritten. The only place I can find any reference to these is on the upgrade page which doesn't really seem like enough to me.

\AdminNeo\Admin interface is practically complete. The list of global functions is very limited because other functions need to be updated with proper comment formatting and ideally refactored.

Documentation reflects the current main branch, not stable 5.0, because I needed to update some comments at first.

Hi @peterpp - as always, thanks for all your fantastic work on this.

I am curious if you have thought about guidelines for releasing new versions? It seems like there have been quite a lot of bug fixes and tweaks since 5.0.0 but no new release. Obviously we can compile the latest version ourselves, but if you're planning on relatively frequent releases, or releases when you think specific changes warrant that everyone should upgrade, or do you have some other thoughts on this?

I wanted to finish it sooner but then I started fiddling with the autocompletion feature included in Adminer and got stuck with fixing one bug after another. I also found a bug in Firefox that actually ruins autocompletion of a multi-line SQL query.

There is also a significant amount of refactoring, so I wanted to give it more time to settle down. The coverage of automated tests is still too small to ensure that I haven't broken anything important.

So, what's the plan? Fix autocompletion, test everything and release.
