Hi @peterpp - I am sorry that something couldn't be agreed on with vrana but I am not really surprised. Thank you for finding a way forward though - I really appreciate your vision and commitment. |

@peterpp thank you for modernizing Adminer (even though it's already a great tool). |

As many of you have noticed, the original Adminer is back after a long time of inactivity. I have discussed a possibility of working together with Jakub Vrána and the result is that we have quite different visions for the Adminer's future. Therefore, we will go our separate ways.
Original Adminer will be developed by the long-time trusted author in a much more conservative, minimalist way. It will probably support PHP 5.0 for a long time and keep things as they are. For many people this will be the unbeatable advantage and I understand that.
In this fork, I will continue with the overall modernization while keeping simplicity. This applies not only to the new default theme and configuration system, but also to the source code itself. That's why the upcoming version 5 will require PHP 7.1 and will break backwards compatibility.
I believe that this new situation will be beneficial as a result, because it will satisfy more people according to their preferences.
However, there is one consequence. We will have to change the brand with respect to the existing Adminer trademark. So the name will be slightly shortened. Welcome AdminNeo! 🎉
