Upgrade version of git on Centos ppc64le test nodes to later git that supports --filter with blob & tree

Can I get “git” upgraded to a newer version please on these nodes? they have git 2.15.0, which does not support latest --filter options… anything >= 2.19.0 should be fine

Can you clarify the source of this requirement please? Is it an upstream openjdk thing or some new dependency on that operation that we've introduced?

I just want to write efficient test scripts that use things like "git clone --filter:tree:0"
