Request for Crates.io Publication

Would you consider publishing the crate to crates.io? This would:

Improve discoverability for Rust users.

Simplify dependency management (via Cargo.toml).

Encourage wider adoption in the ecosystem.

If there are any blockers (e.g., API stability, documentation), I’d be happy to help where possible.

I wanted to publish on crates.io but currently we are using a fork of the cmake crate that adds a function that can force-enables the multithreading when compiling.
There's some issue with using the cc + cmake that makes cmake not use multithreading and it takes around hour to compile on my machine.
Ideally I wanted to re-create the build system with cc and have made some initial progress in #7 I think the basic one is working fine now but haven't checked the implementation of simd on windows.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I understand the cmake multithreading issue is blocking the crates.io publication.

I'm not very familiar with the specifics of cc vs cmake, but I've been using mnn-rs to build an OCR library and successfully compiled it for both Windows x64 and x86 binaries. I'm sharing my GitHub Actions workflow in case it might be helpful for your build system work:
