Unexpected token build error

I'm trying to use the @ag-ui/client package in vite project, but I'm running into a strange error when trying to build my bundle.

It just says "Unexpected token (Note that you need plugins to import files that are not JavaScript)" and references the ../@ag-ui/client/dist/index.mjs

Using vite 4.5.3
Build output is systemjs
