This is a crash-course in bioinformatics for the analysis of Oxford Nanopore Technology Sequencing Data, specifically viral RNA.

What you will learn:

  • Basics of Linux
  • Terminology of high throughput sequencing and bioinformatics
  • Typical viral RNA ONT workflow
  • Custom build
  • Containerised options
  • How to build and annotate a phylogenetic tree
  • How to perform most sequnecing analysis in R statistics

What you need before the course:

  • A GitHub account
  • Access to the UCD Sonic HPC
  • VSCode or a similar platform for ssh tunnelling
  • WinSCP or FileZilla for easy file transfer
  • A positive attitude and sweet treats to get you through yet another conda install
