How can I make sure that I used a valid proxy?

This is what I currently have:

const client = proxyUrl !== null ? new Client({
            ws: {
                agent: new ProxyAgent(proxyUrl),
            },
            http: {
                agent: new ProxyAgent(proxyUrl),
            }
        }) : new Client();

However I can use the code and use a random ass nonsense proxyUrl, yet it will still work, no connection errors, nothing. Is there some sort of client.getIp() or getProxy or getSocket or idk. Just any sort of method that I couldn't find?
