Error creating MyApp-app.xml

Hi,

when adding the ANE with APM and genarating the App XML File I get this error message:

generate/app-descriptor :: /users/myMac/a-air-tools/apm_20250925/.tmp428466/AndroidManifest.xml:8:76-102 Error: Attribute uses-permission#android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE@maxSdkVersion value=(29) from AndroidManifest.xml:8:76-102 is also present at AndroidManifest.xml:7:79-105 value=(28). Suggestion: add 'tools:replace="android:maxSdkVersion"' to <uses-permission> element at AndroidManifest.xml to override.

How can I resolve this?

What extensions are you using and I'll investigate?

Initial thought is to add the following line to your config/android/AndroidManifest.xml (i.e. apm generate config android)

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" android:maxSdkVersion="29" tools:replace="android:maxSdkVersion"/>

If I add

I get this error when crating the manifest:
generate/app-descriptor :: Error: Exception while merging manifests Error: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 9; columnNumber: 142; The prefix "tools" for attribute "tools:replace" associated with an element type "uses-permission" is not bound.

This is the manifest the apm creates, just replaced manually the permission for external storage.

Hi,

Are you editing the xml in the airpackage? Please don't do that, try running the command I list above. It will generate a config that is for your application and will be merged when generating your app descriptor and should have the tools namespace already defined for you.

apm generate config android

Then open the file: config/android/AndroidManifest.xml and add your custom values, eg:

        <meta-data android:name="android.notch_support" android:value="true"/>

    </application>

</manifest>

But also, if you can list the extensions you are using I'll have a look where this error is coming from.
