Help! How to get a License!

I have no income, I'm literally on food stamps trying to update an old AIR application on macOS for personal, non-commercial use. How do I get the free license file?

I wish there were a signup for the free version.

There's no sign-up needed for our 'free tier', it's essentially just the default scenario -> so just download the AIR SDK Manager and use that to download the AIR SDK. https://airsdk.dev/docs/basics/install/macos

Curious then, what is it you're trying to do here? You have to initially accept the license, but that's the same whatever tier you're on; once you have the SDK installed though, it should work without needing a license. Assuming you're on macOS that is; Linux is the platform where a commercial license is a pre-requisite..

Hello, I’m on macOS trying to create a 64bit stubb launcher for Rosetta Stone 5.x 32bit an AIR based application, this is also a learning exercise. But trying to package the Resources folder using the AIR 33.1.1 SDK using adt? is referring to a license file. Thanks, Kyle

All commands can be preceeded by '-licenseFile (path)adt.lic' or '-licenseDevID DevID' to override the use of the lib/adt.lic file

Ah - okay so that last line is just about the potential usage of ADT. If you have a license, it normally loads it from a particular folder, but you can override that using one of those extra command-line options if you want. But if you don't use them, or don't have a license file, it assumes you're on the free tier.

So the actual error here is could not load keystore file (password may be incorrect) i.e. either the password is wrong for that .p12 file, or it's not a valid keystore.

I'm using ChatGPT and don't know any development, it told me to create a dummy-cert.p12, what is a keystore or the password? I just want to create a 46 kb 64bit stub through AIR Framework .app bundling.

Sounds like a dangerous combination :-)

You can create a self-signed certificate using adt -certificate
So that will output the certificate in a ".p12" format, and you have to create a password to give to it, which you then use when calling ADT.

I don't fully know what you mean by a 64bit stub .. where did you get the files that are in ~/Desktop/Resources? Are you trying to take an old application and turn it into an application bundle for recent macOS versions? If the old application is available as a .air file then you could perhaps try that command but passing in the .air file rather than the application descriptor and resources folder. Or you could install the AIR runtime from our website, double-click the .air file, and the AIR application installer will create the application bundle for you; it may then need to be code-signed, properly, according to Apple's latest security requirements.
