As part of this I started a fork of the public GSAP here: https://github.com/airsdk/GreenSock-AS3 which included an airpackage for the library. Would be interested in what we could get for the paid plugins. |

✨ Just in case anyone’s curious about what we’re missing out on with the paid GSAP plugins, here’s a video: And if you’d like to dive deeper into GreenSock animations, I highly recommend checking out this YouTube channel: 💡 Pro tip: if you’re looking for Flash/AS3–specific content, watch the oldest videos — lots of gems in there! |

Hello,
I’m pretty sure I don’t have to introduce GSAP
(GreenSock Animation Platform) - a powerhouse that many of you still rely on daily to bring animations to life in your projects.
The good news is that Webflow recently acquired GreenSock and starting from April, 29, 2025, they made the entire GSAP JavaScript suite (including all premium plugins) free for everyone.
As we all know that - GreenSock has not maintained their AS3 library since 2014. And on top of that, many of the most valuable plugins were locked behind their highest tier “Shockingly Green”, which was quite expensive and therefore inaccessible for many AS3/AIR developers who wanted to use them. Unfortunately for us, their premium AS3 plugins like : -
still remain locked. Having these plugins freely available would definitely breathe new life into our games.
Back in 2014, I had the opportunity to use several of these premium plugins while working at a gaming company, and they played a huge role in improving our workflow, enhancing animations, and adding polish to our games. I’m confident that making them available to everyone would be a tremendous contribution to the AIR community, as these plugins still have the potential to revitalize our apps and games today.
@ajwfrost - would it be possible for you or Harman to explore reaching out to GreenSock/Webflow about the possibility of acquiring rights to the AS3 version of GSAP (including its premium plugins), or helping make them freely available for the community?
Would love to hear what others in the community think.
