Effective Date: March 1, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to Orbit (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Orbit, a macOS application that integrates with Google Contacts. By using Orbit, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

2. Eligibility & User Responsibilities

By using Orbit, you agree that:

  • You must have a valid Google account to use the software.
  • You will not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, distribute, or resell Orbit.
  • You will not use Orbit for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purposes.
  • You may use Orbit for personal and commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

3. Data Collection & Third-Party Services

  • Orbit integrates with Google Contacts to access your contacts.
  • Orbit uses Posthog (analytics), Rollbar (error tracking), Langfuse & Langsmith (observability), and OpenAI/Groq (cloud inference APIs).
  • By using Orbit, you agree to the terms of these third-party providers. We are not responsible for their services, data handling, or policies.

4. Software Availability & Changes

  • Orbit is currently free to use, but we may introduce a paid version in the future.
  • We may update, modify, or discontinue Orbit at any time without notice.

5. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • Orbit is provided "as-is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, accuracy, or that Orbit will meet your requirements.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orbit is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software.

6. Service Availability & Downtime

  • Orbit relies on third-party services (such as Google Contacts, OpenAI, Groq, and other integrations).
  • We are not responsible for any downtime, outages, or disruptions caused by these third-party services.
  • Service interruptions may occur due to maintenance, network failures, or external factors beyond our control.
  • We do not guarantee that Orbit will always be available or operational.

7. Termination

  • Since Orbit runs locally, you may stop using the software at any time by uninstalling it.
  • We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to Orbit if a user violates these Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflicts of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Houston, Texas.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Orbit after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
